Learn more about Auric Studs
What are Auric Studs based on?
Auric Studs are based on the principles of auriculotherapy, a technique derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that uses specific points on the ear to stimulate the body's natural responses. Inspired by this ancient practice, Auric Studs offer a simple and modern way to integrate these principles into your daily routine.
What is auriculotherapy?
It is an ancient therapeutic technique, with roots in traditional Chinese medicine (5000 years ago) and ancient practices in Egypt, Greece, and Rome, where the ear was stimulated to relieve pain. However, modern auriculotherapy was developed in 1957 by French physician Dr. Paul Nogier, who mapped the auricle as an inverted fetal homunculus, linking specific points with organs and body systems.
What are Auric Studs made of?
Our Studs are hypoallergenic and made of stainless steel with gold or silver plating. We offer a titanium version (recommended for sensitive skin), versions with authentic Swarovski® crystals, and versions with decorative pearls.
They are adhered using a transparent, medical-grade adhesive designed for external use.
How to apply Auric Studs
Its application is quick and easy.
- Choose your Auric or Body Protocol according to your needs.
- Clean the ear (preferably with 70% alcohol) and let it dry.
- Carefully remove a stud from the backing sheet using tweezers.
- Place a stud on the chosen area and press with your finger until the adhesive is secure.
- Reactify the stimulation of each point, pressing it for 5-10 seconds. Do this 4 or 5 times a day.
How do I know I've categorized them correctly?
The area indicated on the ear map represents a general zone.
It is recommended to make gentle micro-movements (2–3 mm around the point) until you find the area that feels most sensitive.
How long can Auric Studs be used?
Auric Studs are for external use only and are single-use. They can be used for a maximum of 5 days.
After this time, they must be removed and not reused. If you wish to reuse them on the same auricle, it is recommended to wait 2 days before placing new Studs.
Can I shower with the Studs?
Yes. Pellets can remain in place during:
- Bathing
- Showering
- Physical activity
As long as they are properly adhered.
What happens if I feel pain or irritation?
It can be normal to feel sensitivity, mild pain, or light pressure; this sensation indicates that the point is active and working, which is usually related to a functional alteration in the corresponding body area. The pain should be bearable and not intense.
How are Auric Studs removed?
Auric Studs can be removed with fingers or tweezers. Remove gently from one end of the adhesive. Clean the area. If there is any sticky residue left on the skin, you can remove it with a cotton pad moistened with 70% alcohol.
